In the rural communities of the municipality of El Crucero in Managua,, where poverty and isolation make daily life a constant challenge, Proyecto El Crucero becomes a close accompaniment for the most vulnerable families, promoting health, well-being and hope through community work.
We currently accompany 12 rural communities in the municipality of El Crucero, located in areas that are difficult to access, many of them passable only with 4×4 vehicles. Our visits focus on preventive health education, community talks and basic guidance for families, strengthening essential knowledge about hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention and the use of safe water through water filters, as a key measure to improve household health.
In a complementary way, we support children with educational resources and community support that contribute to their permanence in school and the development of a healthier and more dignified future.

Our Story
Project El Crucero began in 2009 after a mission trip revealed the overwhelming needs of families in this rural Nicaraguan village. Volunteers saw long lines of people waiting for basic medical and dental care, children in need of food, and communities struggling without resources. What started as a one‑time trip became a lasting commitment to provide health care, meals, and education support.
Today, Project El Crucero is a registered 501(c)(3) with a dedicated leadership team and volunteers working to bring hope and essential services to El Crucero and surrounding communities.
